See blog post : How to track visitors

Step-by-Step Guide:

Create an Account / Sign In

If you already have a Google account, you will need to sign in so you can connect it to your Analytics. If you don't have a Google account, you can create one for free.

To sign in / create an account, go to google.com/analytics and click the SIGN IN > Analytics (top right hand side of the screen).

Set up a Property

You will first need to 'Set up a property', telling Google about the website you would like to track.

When you are signed in, click on ADMIN (lower left hand side of the screen).

Under ACCOUNT (drop down menu), select 'Create new account'.

Input all of the details of your website and click the Get Tracking ID button at the bottom of the page.

Copy and paste the whole Tracking ID provided, and email it to Pan to embed in your website. Your Tracking ID should look something like this:

<!-- Global Site Tag (gtag.js) - Google Analytics -->
<script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=GA_TRACKING_ID"></script>
<script>
window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}
gtag('js', new Date());

gtag('config', 'GA_TRACKING_ID');
</script>

Once the Tracking ID is embedded in your website, you will then need to follow the steps here to Add a new view, so that you can track your website's statistics from your Google Analytics page.
